Readers pick the coolest office in Austin

Tech titans such as Google, Facebook and Indeed are renowned for offering awesome office space — but they failed to wow readers as much as the tech department for the local grocery store.

After thousands of votes online, ABJ’s second annual Coolest Offices in Austin contest ended with H-E-B and Favor’s East Austin tech hub besting them all.

I’ve dubbed it a “business bunkbed” in the past because the office is split by H-E-B LP, the state’s largest grocer, and locally born delivery app Favor — which H-E-B bought in 2018 as it prepares to take on Amazon.com Inc. as the next big grocery player.
